I Can't Wait!!!

Only 4 more days until we leave to go home. There is so much that draws us home. My parents are our friends, not just my parents. The beach, our church friends, the home cooking, the favorite restaurants. But this time.....this time there is something that is making these last few days seem to crawl by. Brian and I miss our baby girl!!! She is having the time of her life, and I don't regret letting her go. Will I let her go without me again? Absolutely! But I miss her!!!!!! Savannah misses her too. She has settled for playing with Einstein. Although, when she goes through the house yelling, "Here KITTY!", he seems a little skittish. Can't understand why!!

She will ALWAYS find "a friend"

How beautiful is that! Augh! I can't wait!

She said she was surfing.

Emily and Nat Nat

Emily had a fun day of swimming and playing with her favorite babysitter, Natalie. I think it gave Meme and Papa some rest too.

She is so her mother's daughter.

Chuck E Cheese and Other Fun Things

Get this! Given the choice of going to the beach or going to Chuck E Cheese, my daughter chose CEC. Eww! Granted, they had just gone to the beach the day before, but still! Here some more pics of her having a good time. I miss her!! I miss my parents! We'll be there in 12 days! I'm so excited!

My Life in Six Words

I was tagged by my friend Shannon, so I have to describe my life in 6 words. Hmmm.

1. Content
2. Busy
3. Fun
4. Significant
5. Crazy
6. GREAT!

OK, these were probably lame words, and I'm resisting the urge to explain what I mean by each one. Now I'm supposed to tag 5 people. I don't think I know 5 blogging people that haven't already been tagged. Shannon, in the future, you have to stick to blogging people I don't know. ha ha.

1. Liesl
2. Kristi
3. Tracy
4. Alicia
5. Keith

More of Emily

So, on Sunday, I asked this sweet girl in our church, Emma, if she would give me a hug. I told her that Emily was gone to her Papa and Meme's house and I missed big girl hugs. She promptly threw her arms around my neck, and I promptly burst into tears. I think she thought I was crazy, but she squeezed my neck and moved on. Emily is having the best time in North Carolina. I think Meme and Papa are having fun too. This time together will either make them feel young or make them feel really old. The jury is still out.

Emily's Trip So Far

Thankfully, I have a frequent picture taker for a father, so I have a photo essay of Emily's good time that she's having. She has done so much with her Meme and Papa, and although they try to convice me she misses me, I don't buy it. I think they tell her to tell me that. They've gone fishing, had campfires and ate all sorts of good things! Enjoy the pics! (Sorry they're weird...they weren't taken with my camera)

Silly Savannah

Savannah is missing her "sissy" and is coming up with ways to amuse herself. Like making these faces in the mirror.....and for the camera.

Our Little Traveler

This morning (very early), Emily left with Papa to go to his and Meme's house for 3 weeks. Brian, Savannah and I will be leaving in 3 weeks to go join them for our Summer vacay! I thought she would leave me without a second glance (she is going to Meme's house, after all), but she was actually pretty sad. She will have SO much fun, and I am so glad she can have this opportunity. I am going to miss her...probably not as much as Savannah will, but it's going to be very lonely around here. Quiet....but lonely.

New Beds

We got bunk beds for the girls this week. They are still new, and the girls LOVE to go to bed....that won't last long, I'm sure. Savannah sits up, and says, "Sissy??" To which Emily replies, "Savannah, lay DOWN." It is so cute. They don't have a lot of decorations yet, but we'll get there. Since Emily's bed was moved out of her room, we were able to put the piano in the new "Playroom". Emily will start taking lessons this fall....NO, I'm not teaching her. Our pastor's wife is qualified for that, so she'll be the one to take on that endeavour.

Two Birthdays!!

We celebrated two birthdays this week.
The first one, was my dad's!! He turned 66 on July 3rd. We were SOO blessed to be able to spend his birthday with him. I made him his favorite pie, Coconut Macadamia Nut Pie. It is SO good. It was a labor of love, and didn't turn out AT ALL like it was supposed to. But, since there is only 1 piece left, I'm thinking it was ok. Happy Birthday, dad!!

The second birthday, was obviously America's birthday. I have to say that this was probably the BEST 4th of July we've ever had. We had the Shine's over for a cookout, and played games, the kid's did projects, and got several special treats. The evening was topped off by watching the base fireworks from our backyard. The weather was perfect!! It was cool, not humid at all, and there was a light breeze blowing. The fact that we could watch them from our backyard made it the best! We didn't have to walk miles to our car and wait for an hour for a SP to allow us off base. It was SO much fun!!!
