Well, we have arrived in NC all in one piece. The Lord gave us a great trip! There were no problems whatsoever. Well....somebody got a speeding ticket, but that person shall remain nameless, BRIAN! We were both nervous about traveling separately. Me, because I don't like to drive in large cities, and Brian, well, because I don't like to drive in large cities. But again, the Lord was gracious, and I don't think there were any moments where I was even a bit nervous. The girls did great, and really rolled with the punches as they came. We traveled over 1,300 miles in two days, so they did well, considering.
We are thrilled to be home with my parents for a little while. We're not completely sure when we'll head to VA. Probably August 1st....maybe go up for a scouting trip next Monday. We'll see how it goes. Thanks so much for the prayers. I have TONS of pictures from the last several days, so I hope you enjoy them!
This is how much Emily grew in the time we were at our house.
We celebrated Brian's birthday in the middle of the hulla baloo
Our girls in front of the house. It was kinda sad leaving it. It's the only house Vannah ever knew.
Us and Kalli's girls the night before we left.
Emily and Fluffy. :)
Our girls and the Shine boys. It was a sad day leaving their "brothers".
The girls with Brian's grandma.
There was a mix up with a hotel, and the girls had to sleep on the floor. They didn't even have any linens for us!! Thankfully, Brian's grandma had given us some quilts, so they had a soft pallet.
The beautiful Smokey Mountains in the background.
We were ALL happy to see this sign!
The night after we got home, our church had a group go to a Single A baseball game in Kinston. It was a LOT of fun!!
Emily and Melanie's girls, Emma and Callie.
Melanie, Darla and Me! Darla's visit overlapped with us, so we got to see her!!!
Emily got chosen to go out on the field for an "in between innings" game!!! She was so excited!
