Another Update

Due to several matters of Linda’s health, her surgery was postponed until Friday, now scheduled for 11:35 AM.

I won’t go into all the details of these events because they are too complicated. All the tests and blood work that was done yesterday showed up OK. The wound itself looks much, much better and the drainage has stopped again. I questioned if surgery is really necessary but the doctor is concerned that infection might be trapped in the cavity area where the G-tube had lodged when it came out of her stomach.

Please pray for our daughter, Jennifer, and one of her close friends as they TRAVEL with their children this week-end headed toward Goldsboro. Jennifer has wrestled with coming home to be helpful from the beginning of this latest hospital stay. Yesterday, Linda asked her to come home and that request sealed the decision. They leave Friday morning and Jennifer plans to arrive in Goldsboro Sunday. Her friend will stay in Greenville SC to visit her mom. I know Jennifer and the girls being here will be a great encouragement to Linda, plus a LOT of help to me. Linda has said from the very beginning of her sickness that she really misses having family close by to help. Jennifer plans to stay as long as she is needed.

Several have asked about the financial side of all the hospital cost, etc. Linda turned 65 in June and is covered by Medicare. She also has a supplemental insurance policy that covers expenses not covered by Medicare and the deductibles of Medicare. We haven’t been billed for anything so far. The Lord has provided through several sources extra money to cover other expenses, for which I am very grateful. Jennifer’s expenses to travel home are going to be around $1000.00 and I plan to provide this for her. If any would like to assist in this way it would be appreciated.

Again, pray for Linda tomorrow morning. Before Wednesday’s surgery was postponed she was very upset and nervous. We know the Lord is in control but many times our flesh is so strong and past fears become more powerful that present faith. So, pray as she has yet another chance to experience God’s faithfulness and grace.

“……my grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…”

Still Looking Up,

Joe

I'm so thankful the decision was a clear one and that God's providence is showing so apparent. We continue to pray for health and healing, as well as safe and pleasant travel. =) I'll miss you while you're away, Jenn!!

So glad things worked out to have Jennifer there. We will be praying for Bachelor Brian in addition to the Yeargin family as a whole.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.
God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep.
But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love.
