**UPDATE** Well, I know you are all going to be shocked, but they've decided to postpone the surgery. Big Surprise, huh?? The reason is this. My mom is very swollen and they don't know why she is retaining so many fluids. They said it could be her heart. They are going to run some tests and see if they can figure it out. Anyway, the surgeon didn't want her having surgery while she is retaining so many fluids. On another note. My mom asked to talk to me, and asked me to come home. I heard dad denying in the background, but mom says she's never seen him this worn out. SO....we're still in the planning stage, but I may be on the road in a couple days. Pray for us......
Well, 13 days after having the tube removed and 10 days after being admitted to the hospital, the Dr's have finally decided that mom needs to have surgery to repair her stomach. We don't know an exact time of the surgery. Just that it will be this afternoon sometime.
Number 1, Mom is terrified. Please pray for her comfort. She is scared because of all the complications from the first surgery. I mean, this stomach thing would not have happened except for the complications from the first surgery.
Number 2, I keep saying that lightening can't strike twice, right? The vocal cord problem that happened during the first surgery was a 1 in every 1000 patients. SURELY that won't happen again. Not just after she got her voice back. Please please pray that her cords are not damaged again.
Number 3, pray that the dr's will be able to see how to repair the stomach and they can get everything put back together correctly the FIRST time.
Please pray for my mom and dad...they are discouraged, frustrated and tired. Pray for their strength, and for grace during this time.
