SO Thankful

I was putting the girls to bed tonight, and while I was waiting for Emily to finish brushing her teeth, I was laying with Savannah in her bed. As my little blond haired, blue eyed girl laid there and blinked at me with sleepy eyes, several thoughts crossed my mind.

Number one, I prayed for 2 years for this little girl. I fell on my knees in agony time after time when I realized I wasn't pregnant. I didn't understand why I couldn't have the child I so desperately wanted.

But, in God's timing, HE brought me the most beautiful, wonderful, funny, animated little girl possible.

The other thought that I had, crossed my mind as I heard our heater kick on. I am so fortunate...no, blessed to have a warm house to sleep in at night. Not only a warm house, but warm, clean pajamas for my girls to sleep in.....in nice, cozy, comfortable, warm beds. How many moms are having to do whatever they can to keep their poor babies warm tonight?

We are so blessed, people. God has given us so much! Next time you sit in the drive through at Starbucks (yes, I'm talking to myself), next time you pull that blanket up around your shoulders at night, next time you feed your kids their bedtime snack, take a minute and thank the Lord for all you have.
