I've been waiting to post about this for a while because I wanted allergy results in hand before I gave the news. Savannah's allergist called me earlier this week and told me that all of Savannah's allergy tests came back negative. Like....negative, negative. ZERO on everything...including peanuts. If you remember from my earlier post, her skin test showed that she was allergic to peanuts. I figured people had different versions of negative. I mean, if something is on a scale of 1-40,000 (the typical allergy scale), then technically 1500 is negative, but that would be a flag to me that it could be something to avoid. So I got the results today, and their scale is a little different. It goes from .35-100. If you are below .35, you are considered negative. She was below .35 on everything....except cats. Cats? Yes, we have one, but that was negative on the skin test, and she showed up as a 3.29...still a long way from 100. So...she's not allergic to peanuts? I'm confused.
I got the OK to get her tested for a latex allergy. I haven't done it yet, but I've switched to latex free diapers and I notice a difference!!
On another note, her skin looks better today than it has looked in months. Go ahead, ask the question that everyone around me is asking, "What are you doing?" You ready? NOTHING NEW!! She is off all high fructose corn syrup, peanuts, chocolate and milk, but is that making a difference? I have no idea. I don't know where this clearing has come from, and I really don't care. For now, I'm enjoying the happy girl with pretty skin!
Oh, and in case you missed it at the top....BRIAN WILL BE HOME IN ONE WEEK!!!!!!!

Hey! Ella did allergy testing last year, we were kind of the opposite, her blood test showed that she IS allergic to peanuts and egg whites but when we got here she had the skin testing done and it said she is NOT allergic to anything. They said that the skin pricks are a lot more accurate than blood tests. Hope that helps some. YAY Brian will be home in less than a week!! I'm excited for you!
Allergy testing is so confusing to me because of the conflicting results so many people seem to get! Argh. Hope the latex suspicion provides some answers for you soon!

Glad to hear the good test results and that her skin is doing really well right now! I am so excited for you and the girls that Brian is coming home this week. Will he have some time off to spend at home/go on vacation for a bit when he gets home? Have fun :)
