I had this post already complete, just needing pictures, then I didn't post it. Since it was written the day we actually went to the park, it was kinda lame. So, I'm going to summarize and let the pictures do the talking.
We woke up Friday morning to a very gray, drippy sky. The weather was daunting. Dad wanted to wait until later in the afternoon when the forecast was a little more bright. We had read that even if it was raining, you HAD to go to Disney anyway. The crowds would be less, the weather cooler, and the rain never lasts all day. Brian made an executive decision...we were going! So, off we went to Magic Kingdom.
Disney World....the happiest place on earth. Umm....some parents didn't get the memo. I can't tell you how many parents were yelling at their kids! I get it to a degree. You have all these expectations for your kids, and when they whine at the least little thing, you first reaction is to explode!! "We're at Disney World for goodness sakes!!" But, seriously, people.
Anyway, that was just my soapbox. The crowds were almost non-existent. We walked in, grabbed a couple autographs, went to Dumbo. Now, I'd heard from my personal Disney Assistant that if you don't go strait to Dumbo, you'd be waiting longer than an hour to ride. We finally made it to Dumbo, and mom and I took the girls. While we were waiting (only about 10 minutes, I might add) a downpour came. You could almost hear everyone in Magic Kingdom shriek! It was kinda funny. But the rain lasted about 15 seconds, and it was over. We rode Dumbo twice, the Carousel, Buzz Lightyear, Small World, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and I'm sure more that I can't remember. It kinda of sprinkled the rest of the day, but the fact that there were no crowds, made it all worth it.
We left for rest time, and went back to finish up. The park closed at 7:00, so we went back to the house and regrouped for Day 2....Epcot. I'll post on that tomorrow....maybe. I promise to be done with Disney Posts by the time we move.
The best way to get through a long plane trip?? STARBUCKS!!! (just kidding, there was orange juice in these cups.)
The girls saw this statue thing in the Orlando Airport, and they were taking a picture with it, when they noticed Meme and Papa. So cute.
