Moix Madness: Happy Birthday, Emily!

Almost 8 years ago, Brian and I went to the hospital to visit a friend. On the way out, we (spurred by me, I'm sure) walked by the nursery. After Oo-ing and Aw-ing over the newborns, we decided that we would sit down and have an intelligent conversation about when we would try to have a baby (it seems almost funny, now). So, a couple days later, we sat down, and decided that yes, we were ready for a baby. One month later, I found out I was pregnant. I had the best pregnancy with Emily. It was fun! I lost my job when I was 4 months along, and look back now, and think, "What did I do?" When we found out she was a girl, we went pink! Her room was pepto pink. Around this exact time, 7 years ago, I was getting ready to go to class (I had high medical secretarial aspirations), and I was feeling great. I had gone to the Dr that morning, and he had told me I could go up to two more weeks, at least! That afternoon, I packaged up all of Brian's family's Christmas presents, mailed them off, and then had lunch with my parents. Leftover Sunday dinner, salsa chicken (isn't it funny the things you remember?)

Brian left for work, and about 30 minutes later, I got a stomach ache. I thought the salsa chicken wasn't agreeing with me. When the "stomach aches" started leaving and coming back every 5 minutes, I called my mom (not to disturb Brian in case it was a false alarm). 4 hours later, Emily Anne Moix was born. There was a lot that happened between there that I find really interesting, but I'm sure you've heard enough.

Emily is a true joy in our lives. She was the best baby....never cried. She is sensitive, caring, talkative, and a great big sister. She is a self-proclaimed tom-boy, and likes everything Star Wars. Getting her to put a dress on for church is a struggle, but she sure is cute when she does.

We love you, Emily. You are so special to us. I'm so glad God gave you to me!
