Disney Day 3--Animal Kingdom

Ok, this one will be much shorter. After day 2's late night of fireworks and massive crowds, we decided to sleep in on Sunday. We knew that there wasn't a whole lot that we wanted to see at Animal Kingdom, so we didn't figure we'd be there that long. Maybe we could go back to Epcot or something later. So, we got up and finally meandered out the door around 10. We immediately trekked to Africa for the safari. It's really cute, and the girls got to see lots of animals. Just as we were about to get on the truck thingy for the safari, my brother called. He said he was in Kissimmee, and wanted to meet us for lunch. We were thrilled! We knew there was a possibility of him coming down to see us, but weren't sure. So, after the safari, we headed over to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. It was so yummy....LOUD, but yummy. We decided this day that the girls didn't need naps, so after lunch, we headed over to the Lion King show. We'd been told that is was the best thing at Disney World, so we were pretty excited. The line was LONG, but my mom being in a wheelchair helped us get priority access for some things. I wonder what they do about people that get wheelchairs just for this reason....hmm.. Anyway. Lion King was incredible. The girls were enraptured the whole time! If you ever go to Disney, you have to watch this. By this time, it was getting late, and we knew we weren't going to be able to go to any other parks, so we just walked around, found a couple hidden character spots, and shopped. It was a good time. Animal Kingdom definitely isn't our favorite park, but the girls had a good time. We did notice the crowd level increasing significantly.....it was only going to get worse.

Simba from the Lion King show. I couldn't get any good pictures. It was very dark and smoky (foggy?) in there.

On the safari ride. I think I have a picture from 2005 to compare this too. I'll have comparison pictures later.
